Communication equipment and software are used in the representation, transfer, interpretation and processing of data among persons, places, and machines. Networking and Communication equipment category is comprised of two areas: Networking and RF, microwave & wireless equipment.
Networking equipment is used to connect computers, peripherals and other electronic devices so that they may exchange information. This grouping includes a vast array of hardware and software products that interface with computers to create network systems, maintain network security, allow for remote communication and control, and translate data between a number of protocols. Major components within this family include computer boards, cards, buses, controllers, extenders and expanders, gateways and servers, routers, network firewalls and other security devices, and modems. A separate category, Industrial Computers and Computer Boards, covers products specific to individual computer systems and accessories (monitors, hard drives, keyboards, printers, etc.).
RF, microwave, and wireless components are products that are used to send, adjust, focus, receive or read communication signals that are sent without associated wires. This family includes a wide array of RF (radio frequency) devices including adapters, amplifiers, attenuators, couplers, delay lines, diplexers and duplexers, filters, frequency multipliers, isolators and circulators, mixers, phase detectors and shifters, power dividers, receivers and repeaters, switches, terminators, transceivers, transformers and transmitters. Other products in this communication equipment family include antennas, EMI / RFI filters, I/Q modulators and demodulators, oscillators, PLL frequency synthesizers and QPSK / BPSK modulators.
